White Trout Lake – Campsite #10
Similar to Campsite #7 on White Trout Lake, this site reminds me of a very traditional Algonquin campsite; not because the two sites look the same, but just the feeling they both instill. A pile of rocks form a small fire pit in the middle of a few slabs of flat bench to sit on. Surrounding the fire pit area are a few large tenting options, one with a few roots in the way, and one that’s a bit grassy and softer. It’s a nice sheltered site with enough space to accommodate a large group and there’s a well used trail leading through the forest a short way towards the thunder box. But asides from the gorgeous view looking northwest up White Trout Lake, what makes this site stand out is the large beach landing… it makes the site easily accessible, provides easy access to the water, and offers a spacious area to enjoy the afternoon sun and stargaze later in the evening.
