Waterclear Lake – Campsite #3
The first thing you’ll notice about this campsite is the pretty hard to miss major climb from the canoe landing up to the main campsite area. Now that we’ve got the lack of accessibility out of the way, once you get to the top of the campsite, it’s actually a pretty nice site. There are no shortage of tent spots to accommodate your group, and the campsite has a good enough fire pit, although it comes with below average seating. But there’s a big boulder in the middle of the campsite, so that makes up for it… right? …right? … Bueller? My favorite thing about this campsite was the view north up Waterclear Lake. I didn’t find Waterclear Lake to be that pretty in general, but the view made it look as good as it ever could. Oh, and it had that weird mosquito holding a person marker on the tree, which I’ve seen before on White Trout Lake Campsite #1. Now I’m really curious what it means??? This one must be much older than the one on White Trout Lake though, because the yellow coloring has long faded and it wasn’t even in a sunny area of the campsite.
