Rock Lake – Campsite #9
I hate that I love this campsite. I hate it because there’s such a big climb from the canoe landing to the main campsite, making water access very inaccessible. I also hate that there are lots of cliffs and hills around the site, so you’re not well aware of your surroundings. But now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… otherwise the site is just amazing. The views are breathtaking and it’s about as private as a campsite can be on Rock Lake. The whole campsite is pretty open and exposed but there’s still tons of trees to pitch tarps and hammocks if needed. The gigantic cliffs beside the site are epic to look at and you can probably climb to the top for another incredible view. The front of the site is full of rocky shoreline, which is great for swimming, sunbathing, and stargazing. The campsite is also tucked away in a little bay so you’re sheltered from the wind from three directions. Other than those few things I dislike, I really loved this campsite. It’s not a site I’d want to camp at solo, but with a group it would be an amazing site.
