Rock Lake – Campsite #17
I found this campsite very hit and miss. At first I thought it was terrible because there was a steep incline, even though the canoe landing itself is flat and easily accessible. The fire pit is just ok and the seating is at the back of the fire pit so I’m guessing future campers will likely rearrange the rocks to open up the fire pit towards the seating. I found two tent spots and there may have been a few more further inland, but I didn’t venture deep enough to find out. It’s a small site overall, there isn’t much too it but it will get the job done for a night of camping. It feels a little bit more remote for Rock Lake, even though it’s on the same island as a few other campsites. It just has that feeling to it. It also has really pretty views out onto Rock Lake. There isn’t really anything wrong with the campsite (other than the steep incline at the front), but there’s also nothing too special about it either.
