Rence Lake – Campsite #2

I was eager to check out at least one of the sites on Rence because I had almost booked this lake instead of Welcome. So as I paddled by I decided to hop on shore and check it out. I had seen pictures before, but the pictures didn’t give justice to just how big the rock outcrop is at the front of the site. Maybe the water levels were higher in the pictures I saw, but either way, this site has a good chunk of rock to enjoy the sun and to stargaze. The tip of the rock has a slow gradual slope into the water, which makes it great for swimming or just lounging with half your body in the water. The interior of the site has a small fire pit with poor seating. But at least there’s a cute kitchen shelf lodged between two trees. The two main tent spots are large enough to fit medium to large sized tents. The interior isn’t anything special, but the main draw of this campsite would be the large rock at the front.
