McManus Lake – Campsite #6

This Campsite Report is a Guest Submission. The description and images are not my own so I cannot personally verify its accuracy. If you notice any errors, please let me know. If you want to submit your own Campsite Report, visit the submission page.

This campsite on McManus Lake is facing west/southwest. It’s the second (middle) campsite on the right-hand (northeastern) side of the lake if you’re coming in from Access Point #21. The campsite is fairly shaded. This campsite has a weedy entrance that would not be ideal for swimming with a sandy/pebbly bottom and a steep climb up to the site. This site is fairly roomy with space for three or four tent pads on the site. All of the sites that I visited on McManus have bear cables to hang your food from (marked with a blue diamond saying ‘bear cable’), as there are no usable trees with branches to do this yourself. Most of the trees on this site are pine/coniferous. The thunder box was a short walk east (to your right when facing into the woods) from the campsite. There is no reliable seating area around the fire so bring your own chairs.
