Similar to Campsite #1, this site is right at the entrance/exit of a river, just on the opposite side of the lake. It also offers a beachfront, though it faces east for the sunrise and isn’t as large. The interior is well sheltered, especially the fire pit that’s tucked away among the surrounding trees (that also offer a perfect place for a tarp setup). You won’t have a problem pitching your tent, or multiple tents if you’re with a large group. It was disappointing to see the fire pit completely full of uneaten food, garbage, and face masks when I was there, but obviously this doesn’t have anything to do with the campsite itself. Campsite #1 would still be my first choice, but this site is a good alternative. Although, if you don’t want the traffic from people entering or exiting the river, you’re better off heading to the north shore and choosing one of those sites.
