Erables Lake – Campsite #6
If you’re coming from the south of Erables Lake you may get confused with the landing for this campsite. At least I did. There’s a small slab of rock with an opening and trail leading inland. You know, typical signs of a campsite entrance. But there was no orange campsite marker. I pulled over anyways and realized there was no campsite immediately once I walked inland, so I figured it must have been the back of the campsite. I got in my canoe and pulled around the corner to find the proper entrance. The canoe landing is anywhere you want it to be among the rocks and boulders in the water. There’s a nicely built fire pit with plenty of flat seating directly beside it, and three medium sized tent spots nearby. The front of the campsite faces the island directly in front of it, but the side of the campsite has spectacular views across the northeast of the lake. There’s nothing really to complain about with this campsite other than the fact that it doesn’t face west for sunset, which is my preference. But if you don’t mind that, then this is a pretty good all around site.
