Clydegale Lake – Campsite #6

This is the only island campsite on Clydegale Lake, and it’s often the most desired site on the lake. The island is secluded in the south of the lake, which rarely gets any through traffic (other than people checking to see if the site is available). The interior of the site offers good shelter and has a well built fire pit along with a few different flat tent spot options. There’s exploring opportunities throughout the island, and a beachfront landing with large rocks to enjoy swimming and sunbathing in good weather. It also offers very pretty views onto the southwest shores of Clydegale. This site is the only campsite on Clydegale that isn’t elevated, and with the beach landing, this makes it a very accessible site. One word of caution, because it’s a popular site and it’s almost an hour away from the Pen portage, you’ll be adding a lot of time to your trip to get to/from the island, especially if you find it’s already taken and you need to backtrack to a different site… so just make sure you plan accordingly.
