Burntroot Lake – Campsite #12

One of the two campsites on a small island in the southern half of Burntroot Lake. The two campsites on the island share a beach landing, however the trail to this northwestern site is much longer, and it would not be fun carrying your gear through the trees. There may be another landing closer to the site, but I couldn’t find it when I was there. The site itself is pretty small and exposed, with a single bench in front of the fire pit, and one large tent spot directly behind the bench. For some reason there’s also not one, but two enclosed outhouse thunder boxes in the sheltered inland area. That’s about all there is to it though. It would be an ok site for a solo camper in good weather, but not for a large group.
