Nellie Lake in Killarney – Campsite #206
This is the nicest campsite on Nellie Lake in my opinion. It’s large and has tons of open space to lounge. It has a rocky shoreline that gets sun throughout the day and tons of flat ground for tents inland, sheltered from the elements. The fire pit is pretty average but at least it’s there and has some seating surrounding it. But the best part about the campsite is the almost hidden, massive chunk of quartzite on the east side of the peninsula. It offers a perfect sunrise view and sunshine throughout most of the day, it’s great for swimming, and it’s a nice spot to hang out and lose track of time, whether it’s during a sunny afternoon or an evening watching the stars. The best part is that it completely blocks any westerly winds. The main campsite area is already pretty great, but this side of the campsite brings it to perfection.
