David Lake in Killarney – Campsite #193

I didn’t get to spend too much time at this campsite when I camped on David Lake. My group arrived, set up camp, went to hike Silver Peak, and returned after dark. But the campsite is really nice with a large fire pit area, big patches of flat ground to accommodate several tents, and an exposed rocky shoreline ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and stargazing. The hills of Silver Peak are behind the campsite so unfortunately the views out onto the water are facing the wrong way, but to make up for it, there are opportunities to walk and explore the quartzite ridges behind the campsite. The main downside of the campsite is that it’s nearby some of the only cottages in the park, so you may hear some generator noise, or if you’re unlucky, a plane may land on the lake.
