Tom Thomson Lake – Campsite #8

This Campsite Report is a Guest Submission. The description and images are not my own so I cannot personally verify its accuracy. If you notice any errors, please let me know. If you want to submit your own Campsite Report, visit the submission page.

This campsite on Tom Thomson Lake boasts a very convenient canoe landing, right next to the site, and great westerly sunset views out onto Tom Thomson lake. It has easy access to deep water so swimming is also a big plus. There are two small but well protected tent spots. The spots are on either side of the fire pit. Other then these two tent spots and the fire pit area, there isn’t much additional space on this site and it wouldn’t be suitable for larger groups. The thunder box is located up a long steep pitch so it is best to plan to use it before it gets dark if possible. The only major drawback of this site is a complete lack of seating around the fire pit, except for one rock. It was also a bit difficult finding a suitable branch to hang the food.
