Sunbeam Lake – Campsite #7

The southernmost of the three islands on Sunbeam Lake in Algonquin. This is an exceptionally beautiful site, with a large spacious interior, several jutting rocks to soak up the sun and enjoy 360 degree views of the lake, and several flat tent spots to choose from. There is a big rock in the middle of the site that gives you an aerial view of the interior. There are only two downsides about the island: i) you can see 3 portages and 5 campsites from the island, meaning it is not very private, and ii) there was lots of garbage left behind from inconsiderate campers. Otherwise, it’s a pretty perfect island site.
