Sproule Lake – Campsite #3

By most standards, this is the nicest site on Sproule Lake. It is by far the most open and spacious, with lots of room to walk around and accommodate a large group. The landing is very accessible, and the site offers unparalleled views down both arms of the lake. There are three main tent spot areas, two of which are very large and very flat. The campsite had some obvious signs of heavy use, and there was plenty of moose scat directly on and behind the site. Since this site seemed to be visited frequently by moose, I decided to pitch my tent in the smallest of the three tent spots because it was tucked away and sheltered, while the other two were right by the path leading into the forest. This is most likely the first campsite chosen on Sproule Lake, so if you have hopes of camping here, you should try and get to the lake early.
