Rock Lake – Campsite #4
At first I thought I was going to hate this campsite. It was past 5pm when I visited the site, which meant the sun was behind the campsite and it was very dark and enclosed. But for most of the morning and afternoon it would be much brighter and cheerier. There’s two situations where I think this campsite would be perfect. The first is if you have bad weather. It offers very good shelter and there’s no shortage of flat tent spots throughout the large, levelled campsite. Plus, it also has a good fire pit with lots of seating around it. The second scenario is if you’re heading out early the next day and want to wake up for the morning sun since the rocky shoreline faces east. The site isn’t as picturesque as some others on Rock Lake, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in functionality. An important final note… it directly faces Campsite #5 and Campsite #6, so if you want privacy, this is not the site for you.
