Algonquin & Beyond

Rock Lake, Campground B – Campsite #86

This is the first ever campground report I’ve written, from my first time ever staying at an Algonquin Park campground. Im not sure what specific info people may want to know about campground campsites but I’ll do my best. To me, all of the sites are extremely similar. Sure, some have a tiny bit more privacy, or some more space for an extra tent or car. But the gist of them all are the same. Picnic bench. Fire pit. Parking. Tent spot. This campsite in particular was one of the smallest at the campground, and it was lodged right in the middle with neighbors on all sides only a few feet away. There was absolutely zero privacy. There was enough space to park my car, but even my sedan was a tight squeeze between the trees at the entrance. The ground was mostly rock making it not very ideal in terms of pegging down a tent. But I took this campsite extremely last minute and I knew I wasn’t staying at the campground for privacy. So for my purposes as a launch point to do day trips, it was sufficient. But if you’re coming with a large group and/or for an extended period of time, this site probably won’t be sufficient for your needs.
