Queer Lake – Campsite #12
This is one of the nicer campsites on Queer Lake in Algonquin in terms of aesthetics. However, because it’s on a peninsula and is rather exposed, it wouldn’t be an ideal site in heavy rain or winds. There are a few large tent spot areas which are a bit more sheltered, but the main interior of the campsite and the fire pit area is exposed, with limited options for pitching a tarp. If you have sunny weather though, then you don’t have to worry about anything, and you can enjoy the breeze and the view. One other thing to consider is that the campsite is situated at a very narrow section of Queer Lake, meaning that any passing traffic will be very close and directly in front of the site.
