Pardee Lake – Campsite #1
The northern campsite on Pardee Lake is the more spacious site on the lake, with more room to explore and walk around. The main fire pit and seating area is on a bit of a slant, but I didn’t find this to be an issue. The landing is on the east side as you approach the campsite from the Harness Lake portage, and has a smooth rocky landing with a gradual incline to the main campsite. There are three tent spots to choose from; the first is right behind the fire pit, but sits on top of rock so you wouldn’t be able to peg down the tent. The second and third are just a few metres behind the main site and offer enough room to set up a few medium sized tents. I chose the tent spot that had the most shelter, with the surrounding trees giving option for a tarp setup if needed; however the other tent spot just beside is definitely the large and more spacious spot. Overall this campsite is very accessible and offers beautiful views onto the body of Pardee Lake. Campsite #2 isn’t bad, but with only one permit issued for Pardee Lake, I would always choose this site over the other.
