Mubwayaka Lake – Campsite #2

This is the nicer of the two sites on Mubwayaka Lake in Algonquin, and since the park only issues one permit for this lake, if you have a permit, this site is yours. The canoe landing is on the south side of the campsite, although it’s a little bit hidden. On the north side there’s a large rock that offers an elevated view onto the expanse of the lake. This rock is also ideal for sunbathing and stargazing. Inside the site, there’s a good fire pit but it lacks much seating. However the site is very open and has countless tent spots to accommodate groups of any size. If you’re looking for a nice campsite on a private lake that doesn’t get much through traffic (if any), this southern site on Mubwayaka Lake is a great choice.
