Maple Lake – Campsite #4

Maple Lake – Campsite #4

Campsite #4 on Maple Lake is the southernmost island on the lake. In low water levels, you might be able to walk to the adjacent island Campsite #5. Either way, they are very close by and presumably sound would travel very easily between the two sites. But that shouldn’t be a deterrent because this site is absolutely beautiful. The flat beach landing makes the site easily accessible and also provides a great place to swim. The interior of the site is pretty sheltered considering it’s a small island, and it has several large tent spots to choose from (one is pictured below, but there are also others). The openness and spaciousness of the site is met with large, flat cliff faces that provide a comfortable place to relax with an elevated view onto the lake. You can wander through some short trails to get to the back of the site, watch the sunset while cooking dinner, and stargaze from one of the cliffs. It really is an excellent site so I’ll just stop here before I keep rambling.
