Maple Creek – Campsite #2

I understand why this campsite is here, but I personally would never want to camp at it. If there’s an emergency on the creek, or if a slow-moving group wants to split the creek travel into two days, then sure this campsite has a purpose. It’s located about 30m from the portage landing, but it’s located directly on the trail so there is no privacy from any groups passing through on the portage. It does have a small fire pit with more than enough flat seating beside it, along with two flat tent spots just a few feet away. Since it’s located inland it does offer great shelter from any wind or rain. But there’s really nothing more to this site, it’s just shelter and fire if you need it. Don’t book this campsite expecting anything more than that. However, if you do book Maple Creek, this is absolutely the better of the two sites on the creek.
