Algonquin & Beyond

Magnetawan Lake – Campsite #2

I’m not one to personally camp on a ‘paddle in’ site, but if I were going to, this wouldn’t be a terrible choice I guess. It has a smooth beach landing directly in front of the campsite, making access to the water very easy. The campsite is spacious and open, with a pretty view out onto Magnetawan. And there are tons of tent spots surrounding the site that are able to accommodate a large group. The fire pit and seating are pretty meh, but you’d be camping on this site for the sake of going camping, not because you ventured into the backcountry to find a really nice site. Of course, you would only take this site if you didn’t care about having privacy considering it’s directly in front of the main canoe route out of Magnetawan access point, so you’d probably have 50+ groups pass by during a busy summer day.
