Little Trout Lake – Campsite #5
I really enjoyed visiting this site and thought it was a pretty little campsite midway through Little Trout Lake. It has a great landing; a gradual sloping rock making it easy to pull in, and also easy to unload your gear. There is tons of room to accommodate a handful of tents, and the fire pit has enough seating surrounding it (although they’re circular logs so your butt will probably get sore quickly, not a bad idea to bring your own chairs!). The fire pit is also right by the shoreline and offers a really nice view onto the main body of the lake, facing northwest for the sunset. In addition to the sloping rock at the landing, there’s more sloping rock in front of the fire pit, making it a great area to swim, sunbathe, and stargaze. The only concern is that the site is pretty exposed, but unless you have really strong wind or rain, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
