Campsite #1 on Little Hay Lake is the only campsite on the lake. It’s a south facing campsite with good exposure on both the east and the west sides. The site is somewhat steep overall with a steady grade from the forest above, right to the water. The canoe landing isn’t very easy, with a rocky and steep entrance. It’s a large campsite, but there is only one good spot for a large tent. The tent pad area had to be dug out from the sloped ground in order for it to be level. There are a lot of dead trees and ‘widow makers’ hanging above on the east side of the campsite. Behind the site, to the north, there is a lot of firewood available from blowdowns.
