Lake Opeongo, South Arm – Campsite #28

This campsite is like an amalgamation of the six or seven sites south of it on Lake Opeongo. It has a few areas of rocky shoreline that make it easy to land your canoe and enjoy the afternoon sun. It’s got an ok fire pit, though it lacks seating surrounding it. The inside is decently open and spacious with no shortage of flat ground for tents. There’s a flat kitchen table built between some trees, and an absurd number of grills stacked near the front of the campsite. Other than the lack of seating by the fire pit, I’d say this is an above average campsite. As long as you don’t mind that it faces Bates Island and several other campsites are in view from the shoreline, this would be a nice place to spend a night or two.
