Lake Louisa – Campsite #6

I’ve paddled through Louisa several times and I’ve never seen this site occupied before. Understandably, many people don’t want to camp on a site nearby a portage, with lots of traffic coming through, without seeing everything else the lake has to offer (assuming you’re entering Louisa from the east). The site isn’t very exciting, but it’s really not all that bad. It has a chunk of open rock by the water, typical of sites on Louisa, with a handful of flat tent spots in its sheltered interior. It’s not ideal for swimming, but you’ll get to enjoy some sun on the open rock at the front of the site. If you arrive on the lake late in the evening or want to shorten your next travel day, this site is good enough in a pinch.

UPDATE: In 2023 it was reported that this campsite has been closed.
