Lake Louisa – Campsite #18
It’s hard to choose one specific favourite campsite in Algonquin Park because there’s so many amazing sites that offer so many great things depending on the trip. This island campsite on Lake Louisa is absolutely one of my top favourites though, no questions asked. It has an incredible rocky shoreline and picturesque landing. There’s open rock on all sides of the island for sunrise, sunset, stargazing, swimming, and protection from any direction of wind. There’s an awesome fire pit inland, also sheltered from the wind. There’s an open spacious interior with unlimited tent pads. It seems like every time I would walk through the island I’d find something cool and exciting. I’ll stop ranting now. I absolutely love it. Only downside is that there’s limited privacy; you’re directly facing two other campsites within a stone’s throw. But that’s a worthwhile trade off in my opinion.
