On a lake with plenty of beautiful campsites, this site is pretty undesirable. It’s very small, with a simple fire pit / cooking area, two tent spots nearby, and that’s pretty much it. The sloping rocky shoreline will make unloading gear a bit of a challenge, and it’s not a great site for swimming either. It also doesn’t get too much afternoon sun since it’s an east-facing site. Even if the lake is fully booked, the park leaves a handful of buffer sites on Louisa (booking less permits than sites on the lake), so I can’t see any reason why I would ever choose to camp here.
