Algonquin & Beyond

Kirkwood Lake – Campsite #2

I had visited this site before but didn’t take any picture, so I revisited it again. For a tiny island, it’s crazy steep. There’s two poor canoe landings to choose from, and regardless of which one you choose, you’ve got quite a climb to the top with your gear. There aren’t any good tent spots either really, and the fire pit kinda sucks too. And for a small island, the views aren’t too spectacular. Campsite #1 on Kirkwood Lake would be my first choice if I were to camp there, and that’s coming from someone who typically loves islands.
