Joe Lake Western Narrows – Campsite #2
I found this campsite to be a bit odd. Its massive chunk of rock definitely makes it an aesthetic site, but it was hard to know what’s part of the site and what isn’t. I landed my canoe on the east side of the site where there was a small fire pit with two log benches. Climbing to the top of the massive rock, there were some flat patches of ground for tents, another small fire pit, and plenty of rock to enjoy. The weird part is that there’s a cottage just east of the site, and when I was at the top of the large rock I noticed a tent maybe 10-15 meters behind the site. There were no other signs that the campsite was occupied (no gear, food, canoe, etc.) so I wasn’t sure if that tent was part of the cottage? Either way I wasn’t a fan of the lack of privacy for this site, despite its aesthetic appeal from the water.
