This is one of those campsites that is great for a small group but really wouldn’t be ideal if you were travelling with 4+ people. It’s a cute campsite but there isn’t much room to spread out, and there are only two medium sized tent spots. It does have a nice chunk of rock by the shoreline, which I always love, but the fire pit area is very exposed making it not ideal for inclement weather. The main thing that absolutely won’t go unnoticed is the thunder box. It’s right there. Like, literally 10-15 metres behind the fire pit. Look at the picture below captioned “Thunderbox behind site” and you’ll see what I mean. It’s honestly much more noticeable than what it looks like in the picture… while I was paddling on the water, before even pulling up to the shore, I saw it very clearly. Not very private at all. I ran into a group on my way out of Head Lake who were camping at this site and they said they were going to put in a complaint to the park. So who knows, maybe the thunder box will have been moved by the time you’re reading this.
