Erables Lake – Campsite #5
Like many other sites on Erables Lake, the front of this campsite is a massive chunk of rock overgrown with vegetation. The canoe landing isn’t ideal since you need to find somewhere among the rocky shoreline to unload, and dragging your canoe up for storage would be even less ideal. At the top of the rock is a flat area with a cool fire pit and seating setup, with a gorgeous elevated view out onto Erables Lake. The fire pit area is completely exposed, however further back inland there are three notable tent spots and a trail leading to the thunder box. Personally, I really dislike how inaccessible this campsite is and the very poor water access to get in and out of my canoe for frequent paddles. But otherwise I guess it’s not terrible. It wouldn’t be my first choice on Erables Lake though.
