Erables Lake – Campsite #3
Like many of the other campsites on Erables Lake, the canoe landing for this site is basically anywhere you can find among the rocks to land and unload your canoe. I’m sure this would change greatly depending on the current water levels as well. There’s an almost vertical 4-5ft climb into the site, but the rest of the site is relatively flat and level. The campsite isn’t massive, but it does feel open, spacious, and sheltered all at the same time. The highlight of this campsite though is the fire pit and seating. It has an amazingly built fire pit with a few flat benches for seating, the perfect distance away from the fire pit. At the front of the fire pit is a super flat large rock, acting as the ideal kitchen table for food prep or cleaning up after the meal. Even though the campsite faces west for sunset, the shoreline is heavily covered with trees so I wouldn’t anticipate this site getting much sunshine at any point in the day. If you don’t mind the lack of exposed shoreline to enjoy good weather, then you’d probably like everything else that this site has to offer. Personally, it’s not a site I would go out of my way for.
