Erables Lake – Campsite #2
And the award for the worst campsite on Erables Lake goes to… this one! In all seriousness though, I’m guessing this would be peoples least favorite site on the lake. It’s small, enclosed, and cramped feeling. There really isn’t much to the site and there isn’t room to stretch out and walk around if you’re with a large group. The fire pit and seating are very basic and primitive feeling, and there were only two tent spots that I noticed, a bit overgrown with some moss. I will say though, the front shoreline was one of my favorite of all the campsites on Erables Lake. Most campsites have massive rocky shorelines that are super inaccessible and require a steep climb to the site. This campsite had smooth sloped rock circling the site, not only making it probably the most accessible site on the lake, but also a great place to enjoy some morning sun and go for a swim. A soloist or small group might find a way to appreciate this site, but it wouldn’t appeal to a large group.
