Erables Lake – Campsite #10
This campsite sits atop a large hill, but thankfully there is a very small patch of ground that you can pull up your canoe to land and unload. It’s not the most accessible, but it will do. Once you climb to the top of the campsite you’ll find a very small fire pit with seating that is oddly very far away from the fire pit itself. You won’t be making a fire large enough to keep you warm from that distance, so it just seems like a weird setup. Surrounding the fire pit area are a few flat tent spots and a path leading to the thunder box. This campsite isn’t anything to write home about, but the one thing that I did like was that it was located in an area thriving with wildlife. I saw beavers and loons, and it seemed like the perfect place to see moose too if you would be lucky enough. It still wouldn’t be enough to convince me to camp at this site, and I’m guessing most people would agree and look for something else.
