Erables Lake – Campsite #1

Pulling up to this campsite I had a feeling that I was going to be disappointed. The canoe landing was pretty crappy with a bunch of downed trees and overgrown sandy bottoms. It’s definitely not a swimming campsite. Inside the main campsite was actually pretty nice though. There was plenty of perfectly flat seating surrounding the tiny, barely existing fire pit, which was tucked away in the corner of the site. The rest of the campsite was open and spacious with some pretty large tent pads. There’s also a single bench near the shore to enjoy the lake views, so that’s a plus I guess. Overall this is a site I’d be ok with if there was inclement weather and I just wanted a spacious campsite that offered good shelter and a flat spot to sleep. But in decent weather I’d continue onwards to one of the nicer sites on Erables Lake.
