Club Lake – Campsite #1
This campsite is located on the former site of Richie Bros Lumber Mills. The canoe landing is a nice flat beach, but it’s immediately following by a steep climb up to the main campsite. The moment you get to the main campsite you immediately start to see the remnants from the lumber mill, including a piece of a toilet, what looks to be a bed frame, an epic brick fire pit, and a very old vehicle of some sort. Whether camping or just visiting this site, please remember to never touch or move any of the remains! Also please be careful if camping here, as I had someone report to me that they almost stepped on a piece of rusted metal while pitching their tent. Aside from the remnants, the campsite itself is pretty good. It has a nice view out onto Club Lake, there are endless tent spots, and the fire pit is pretty great. At the time of writing this I didn’t get to check out the other two campsites on Club Lake, but from the water they didn’t look too exciting and if I had a reservation for the lake, I think camping at this site among all the remnants would be a pretty cool and unique experience.
