If you’re looking for something a little bit unique on Canisbay Lake, this may just be the site for you. The front of the campsite has a beach landing… ok, that part isn’t unique. But inside of the campsite has a very interesting vibe. There are downed and uprooted trees everywhere. The tent spot is a large patch of ground completely exposed to the sky. Surrounding the campsite (including the path to the thunder box) is full of sloping hills. And the seating for the fire pit has had the ground start to grow around it, making it look more natural than the typical bench seating you see at other sites. This campsite has a much rougher and more primitive feeling to it than the other campsites on Canisbay Lake, and for a second you’ll almost forget that you’re on a huge lake with plenty of campsites and multiple campgrounds. Just don’t turn on your cell phone or the strong cell signal will be a constant reminder that you are in fact not very remote!
