Canisbay Lake – Campsite #10
This campsite has some features that I really enjoy in a campsite, but it also has some features that I really dislike too. The rocky shoreline and rock cliff at the front of the site… awesome! The multiple flat tent spots to choose from for a good night’s sleep… also awesome! The dark and enclosed campsite with heavy tree coverage… not so awesome. Well, it’s awesome if you have heavy wind or rain, but I tend to prefer open and aesthetic sites instead of ones like this. On the neutral side of things, not awesome but not not awesome (confused yet?) is the fire pit and lack of seating. There are two fire pits, one is further back and is just a small ring of rocks; this is likely an unofficial fire pit and shouldn’t be used. But the main fire pit is closer to the water and sits in front of a mid-campsite rocky ledge. The ledge could maybe be used as seating by one person, but otherwise there’s nowhere really to sit by the fire pit. The fire pit itself is cool, so that’s awesome… but the seating, not so awesome.
