Algonquin & Beyond

Byers Lake – Campsite #1

This is the northern of the two sites on Byers Lake in Algonquin Park. It’s a simple site with a basic fire pit and seating area. The site itself is quite spacious and has a very large flat area to accommodate several tents, with a few smaller tent spot options directly surrounding the fire pit. There’s also a large beach landing that offers a spectacular sunset view and great swimming opportunities. There’s a second very small beach on the east side of the site to offer a view of the sunrise as well. Because of the openness of the site, the thunder box is pretty much always in view, but this is a small inconvenience in my opinion.
