Burnt Island Lake – Campsite #28

I’ve camped on Burnt Island a few times but I’ve never thought too highly about most of the campsites on the lake. This site took me a bit by surprise. It has a very accessible sloped rocky landing on the south side of the site, in its own private little bay. There’s plenty of room to accommodate a large group with multiple places to pitch tents and lots of seating surrounding the fire pit (plus a small secondary fire pit, but I can’t see why you would want to use it). There’s a massive split tree right by the shoreline, which makes for rather interesting campsite décor. The main downside with this campsite is its very close proximity to the site just north of it, and the island site right beside it. But the way the campsites are situated it actually seems like there’s a decent amount of privacy between the sites.
