Big Trout Lake – Campsite #15

When getting to this site you can use the small rock outcrop as a canoe landing or the section just beside it, both of which are rather easily accessible. Inside the campsite is similar to Campsite 22 on Big Trout Lake in the sense that it’s very spacious and has plenty of open ground, with several options for your tent. The fire pit and seating is very similar to most other campsites on Big Trout Lake as well. The main appeal of this site is that it’s secluded in the little channel on the north end of the large island, which likely doesn’t see too many people paddle through (relative to the fact that Big Trout is an otherwise busy lake). Plus, I’d be willing to bet there is good wildlife viewing opportunities in the more shallow sections of the northern shoreline nearby the site.
